Emily Becker-Weidman, PhD is a child and adolescent psychologist with extensive experience evaluating and treating adopted people through young adulthood. She is an ACT certified Cognitive Therapist, has been intensively trained in DBT, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT, and is certified in Attachment-Focused Therapy. She is trained in assessment and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and neuropsychological testing and evaluation. Dr. Becker-Weidman originally trained in a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the NYU Child Study Center and currently is Clinical Faculty at NYU teaching attachment theory and clinical practice. Currently, she is Clinical Director of the NYC Div. of the Center for Family Development in Manhattan, and clinician with the Hudson Valley Center for Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Becker-Weidman has presented research at several national conferences, co-authored 3 book chapters on child and adolescent psychopathology, and published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals.
