Cassady Casey, PsyD, is a NY- and NJ-licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist whose practice focuses on individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and young adults; parenting support; and neuropsychological testing. Among her clinical experiences, she trained within the Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital Parent-Infant Center (Manhattan, NY) providing assessments and relationship therapy to children (birth to five years old) and their caregivers to foster healthy attachments following trauma experiences. She later worked at the Child Mind Institute in Manhattan conducting clinical and learning evaluations and on NIMH-supported research aimed at differentiating autism from ADHD.
Dr. Casey primarily utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, although her treatment approach integrates multiple modalities depending on a client’s needs and goals. She also provides behavioral parent training as well as more general parenting support. Because of the significantly different developmental challenges for adopted youth, Dr. Casey has a special interest in providing adoption-informed treatment and neuropsychological testing, taking particular note of the adopted individual’s pre-placement history and development within the first three years of life. Dr. Casey also provides testing of learning and academic-related difficulties, not only for children but also college and graduate students, to determine qualifications for academic accommodations.
