Jeff LaCure, PsyD, LICSW has been active in adoption and child welfare for over 25 years and continues to write and speak on adoption matters to various groups and members of the adoption triad. In his private practice in the Boston, Mass. area, he treats individuals, couples and families and specializes in trauma, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. As Director of Adoption Support and Family Counseling Center he has treated many adopted youth and adoptive families and also provides treatment for adopted adolescents through group therapy.
Dr. LaCure draws much of his knowledge from his own experience being born in Frankfurt, Germany and then adopted at seven months of age by an American couple. He is the author of several books: “Adopted Like Me,” “Raising Our Children’s Children,” “Remembering: Reflections of Growing Up Adopted,” and “Room in the Heart.” He also published “Finding the Yellow Brick Road: Adoptees’ Stories of Truth, Love, and Self-Discovery” which is a compendium of adopted adults’ stories. In addition to his life with his family and his private practice, Dr. LaCure is a longtime athletic varsity coach and has published “The Art and Science of Successfully Coaching Female Athletes.”
